Problem with a particular lot

I've built a ranch on the Red Roan-lot in Chestnut ridge. Originally it was built as a residential rental, but was later converted into a single family home, in other words a normal residential lot. I played on the lot actively for months, without ever having any issues with it, not when it was a rental property or when it was a resident.

Then I while back (a couple of months) after having played another family for a while, I had trouble loading the lot. Endless loading, no matter what I did. Eventually I followed steps I found here, travelling to nearby lots and going close enough to see it, moving the family out and then in again, removing all my mods and then loading the lot, uploading it to the gallery with no mods and then putting it back once mods were installed again.

That's when I noticed a weird thing - even though I had removed all the mods from game, before loading the lot to my library, when I went to get it - cleaned off mods - it still said it was modded. This struck me as weird but as it still worked, I didn't think much more of it.

Now the same lot refused to load again, and I have tried everything and then some. I have replaced it with other lots then downloaded the clean lot and restarted - it won't load. I've moved the family out and in so many times it's annoying - it won't load. Today I finally got it to work, after having moved the family out, replaced the lot with an entirely different lot, gone into buildmode and replaced the new lot with my old (mod free but still counted as modded lot) and then moved the family in.

I thought it was fixed.

Then I open up the game a few hours later and the error remains. Better exceptions throws an LE saying it's a "routing_component" but I don't know what that means. Again there is no cc on the farm, I've played it extensively for months with no issues so why is it now unplayable? The lot is a part of a longer story, and I really, really do not want to remove it from the game.  What can I do?

  • Hi JesLet40

could be a number of things. Unfortunately I'm currently swamped and can't look at your house but you said it was a converted residential-rental that you turned back. It's very possible that there's still some data on the house from when it was a r-rental causing issues

Could you make sure you have no mods at all in (also no BE) and upload the LE you get from the game (found in your doc folder). Delete the ones you have and trigger the error, then see if there's a new file. Copy/Paste the content.

As for the flag: Do you have any photos or paint by ref ? Those flag lots too.

  • The house is filled with both photos and paint by refs, as one of the residents was an explorer. I didn't know those were triggered as CC.

When you say no mods, do you mean in the save itself - or cc in the house? I know from experience that removing all mods from game usually temporarily solves the problem, the issue is that when I turn mods back on, the problem reappears (so yes, in some way mod-related, some conflict that I just can't figure out).

All mods are updated, and none have to do with lot types. Also everything else in the game is working as it should, but not that one lot (which is the only without cc, the ones with lots of cc works just fine).

    I do mean the game.

If it works without mods/cc then it's not a game bug forum the bug forum as EA doesn't need to look into it.

Please post in the mods forum instead so someone can help you figure out what's causing this.
