None of the solutions fixed the issue, the only way I was able to fix it was by deleting the bathroom sink, if I don't have a sink the house they use it just fine, if I add a sink they refuse to use it, doesn't matter where the sink is, could be all the way upstairs.

@graceymanors, I'm so sorry you are having trouble.  ☹️😞

Just to be on the safe side, the current version of the game should be 1.50.67.1020   To check your version, go to the Main Menu page (the same page you start from) and look at the bottom of the screen and it will tell you which version you have.  This is just to make sure that your game is actually updated and not just Origin telling you that it is.

Other than that, it could be a routing issue of some sort, having to do with the counters, stove, and other kitchen stuff, but it also might be something else. 🤔 I will check with some others to see if anyone else might know what is going on! 🤨  …….

@graceymanors, I'm still waiting on feedback from some others, but I did just think of something -- is anything above your dishwasher (either counter or wall)?  If there is, try moving that item and see if that helps. 🤞  You could also try moving the dishwasher to another location and see if that makes a difference.

Normally I would think this was a problem with Mods/Custom Content (CC) but you stated that you play with a vanilla game, so that shouldn't apply here! 😃

@graceymanors, I talked to someone who had something similar and in their case their cabinets were just a bit too low. (Strange thing was was that this only affected the dishwasher and not the microwave, the counters or the stove, etc.! 🤨 😃 )

So, you can try to move the dishwasher and it's counter a tile out from the edge of the room, or somewhere there aren't any barriers. That is what they did.  You could also try removing the upper cabinet above the dishwasher, or try moving it up a little bit, if possible.  (Or you can try all 3 and see which you like best. 😇 )

Please update us on whether this works or not! 😉  Thanks! 🙂

@graceymanors, hoping that works for you! 🤞  if it still doesn't , then I have a couple more things to try:

    1) you can try placing the house on another lot and then test it in the new location

    2) you can also delete the local thumb cache package file -- it seems we used to be told to just try to repair the game (which you already did) but now it is advised to delete the localthumbcache.package file as well, and then repair the game as before.  Here's how to do it here: https://sims4.crinrict.com/en/2014/09/delete-cache-files/

These are Crinrict's instructions and Crin is a Hero here on this site and very helpful! 😇

After you delete the localthumbcache.package file and repair the game again, you need to exit and restart both Origin and The Sims 4.

I know this is a lot of information, but we want you to be able to solve your problem as soon as possible! 🙂

Finally, was this a house you downloaded from the Gallery?  There is a chance it could be a glitched house.  Also, many houses that people make require use to enable the Move Objects cheat for the items to either show up properly or to work properly.  They usually warn us in the description, but sometimes they forget, or sometimes we forget to do this ourselves (I know I have! 😳😃 )  You can always try to turn on this cheat and then placing the house.  To turn on the cheat, bring up the Cheat Box by pressing "Ctrl" + "Shift" + "C" and then in the box type "bb.moveobjects on"   (without the quotes) and hit "Enter".  Don't forget the period after bb! After you place the house you can turn off this cheat by bringing up the Cheat Box again and typing "bb.moveobjects off" and hit "Enter".

I hope we can fix your dishwasher issues quickly! 🤞 I know how frustrating this can be! 😞

Please update us whether any of these works or not.  and if they do work then please tell us what worked!

    Best of luck! 😉

Well, she uses the dish washer now, moving it to another tile worked. However, now she only washes one dish at a time, she won't collect all the dirty dishes, and a lot of times she picks the dish up and sets it back down.

And I just learned its only her, her husband is just fine...I guess she's glitched or something.

@graceymanors, while I often get Sims who start to clean up the dishes and then change their minds and put them down somewhere, they usually don't only do one dish at a time!  🤨🤔  I don't know what is causing that.  YOu might be right by saying that particular Sim might be glitched.  Have you tried to reset her yet? 🤔  To do that, open up the Cheat Box and press "Ctrl" + Shift"+ "C".  In the box type "resetsim Sim Name"

-- so if your Sim was Bella Goth, you would type "resetsim Bella Goth" (without the quotes) and press "Enter".  I don't know if it will work in this situation, but it is very handy in a lot of situations! :eahigh_file:

I'll see what else I can find in case this doesn't work, but hopefully it will!  Thanks for updating us about the dishwasher! 😇  At least other Sims can now use it normally! 😉

@graceymanors, I forgot to ask what the traits are for your Sim that only puts one dish in the dishwasher at a time?!  Does she have the Lazy or Slob traits, by any chance 🤔

Also, have you tried to click on the dishwasher and have her "Load Dishwasher" when there are more than one dish lying around.  She might respond to that command better. 😉

Dishwashers in The Sims are standalone appliances, and the surface of a dishwasher can be used for food preparation. Broken dishwashers will leak, creating floods that need to be mopped up. Sims can and will use broken dishwashers, and using a broken dishwasher will cause even more flooding. Trying to repair a dishwasher without mopping up the floods in front of it increases the risk of electrocution. Due to the way objects work in The Sims, recolors of Maxis objects are separate objects. Therefore, recolors of Maxis dishwashers may have prices that are different from the originals. Kids are able to use dishwashers, even though the game states that they can only be used by adults. Due to all these problems I don’t like to use a dishwasher in Sims, I use one in real life from ianboer.com.au
