Script mods won't let me play with my households

Hi! This is my first time asking a question here and Im worried no one will have any clue what is going on, because I can't seem to find any solutions anywhere! 

Anyway, on with the issue. I have played sims 4 for a long time and never really experienced any issues I couldn't work out for myself (I use ALOT of CC) but this has really stumped me. I have recently got a new Mac which I've started playing on and downloaded all my CC again, all up to date. The issue starts when I turned on my script mods, basically as soon as I turn them on, my sims stop responding within my saved game files, they won't let me do anything within them (E.G. Walk here or chat). I have checked all my CC downloads and they are all up to date and work absolutely fine without the script mods turned on, as soon as I turn script mods off in the settings, everything returns to normal? However, Id really like to play with my script mods as well. Does anyone have any ideas because I'm so confused.
