@SammieForever88Try it again after you deleted the cachefile "localthumbcache.package".
If this doesn't work you can repair your game
I repaired my game after posting my original post and then went back into the game with the same problem, no change. I ended up deleting the left over foods in the fridge and began remaking foods to re-stock up. I haven't had the issue again yet but I haven't had much time to play test it further. I will also try removing the file you suggested and see if that does it.
I'll update here again as soon as I know if its worked or not.
If possible, could you explain what the "cachefile localthumbcache.package" is and why removing it would help? I'm not too tech savvy and would like to better learn what this was.

- 3 years ago@SammieForever88 you find that file "localthumbcache.package" in The Sims 4 folder in your userfolder. This file caches different Data from the Game. Sometimes it is useful to delete it. When deleted an you start the game it creates a new file.
