While I’m trying to get into game play on the sims 4 my house will have a black box over it and then after getting into my sims family it’ll load up black. I repaired the game deleted cache files opened in window mode.

There are currently some issues with certain versions of macOS and/or certain graphics chips/GPUs.
I experienced this issue today while building. There is a LOT of CC on the lot but this (below) started spontaneously while I was using a Basegame terrain paint outside.
I stupidly saved while it was happening, and when I reloaded the game everything worked fine except the thumbnail for the house looked like the one in the OP

I was able to resolve the issue (I hope) by rolling back my save to before the glitch occurred. Hopefully it won't happen again.
I am having the same problem and i have a couple of mods however they were all recommended by famous youtubers. I downloaded nothing from suspicious websites only famous YouTubers!
I had one bad cc that was causing this for me. I guess it went bad after the update. I just started to put all on my cc that was close to where the box was appearing in household inventory. One of the item went in with a black box around it and the problem was solved. I tried everything because everything was fine before. Hope this helps someone.
