Sims 4 Restarting & Corrupted Mod Error After Moving Folder

Hi everyone, I’m having a major issue with my Sims 4 game, and I’m hoping someone can help me figure out what’s going on.

Whenever I try to launch my game, I keep getting this error message:

“Unable to start: Cannot start because the below file appears to be corrupted. If this file is a Mod please remove it and try again. C:\Users\kenad\OneDrive\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods\~$latinumLuxeSims] Baby Shower Set.package”

I deleted the corrupted file, but the error keeps coming back every time I try to play.

I also noticed that my game keeps restarting from the beginning, even though I still have all my save files. My saves are currently located in:

OneDrive → Documents → The Sims 4 → saves

But my actual game folder is now in:

This PC → Documents → Electronic Arts → The Sims 4

It looks like the game is still trying to read the OneDrive version of my Sims 4 folder instead of the correct one. I have two different Sims 4 folders on my computer, and the OneDrive version has cloud icons and keeps causing corrupted files.

I’m trying to fix this so the game only reads the local folder and stops pulling anything from OneDrive.

What I’ve already tried:

  • Deleted the corrupted mod file
  • Moved my entire Sims 4 folder out of OneDrive
  • Restarted the game
  • Restarted my PC
  • Verified that my saves still exist
  • Confirmed that OneDrive is still showing duplicate Sims 4 folders
  • Tried launching the game again, but the same error appears

What I need help with:

  • How do I completely stop Sims 4 from reading the OneDrive folder?
  • How do I safely remove the OneDrive version without losing my saves?
  • Why does the corrupted file keep reappearing even after deleting it?
  • How do I make sure the game only uses the correct folder in This PC → Documents?

Any help or advice would be appreciated. I just want my game to stop restarting and to load my actual saves again.

Thank you!
