@SimGuruModSquad, I have tried making hair and accessories using alpha on the item's image resource. Unfortunately, in the game, the alpha component doesn't seem to function properly. Instead of a border sharply defined by my alpha I end up with edges that appear to approximate whatever skin color I have applied to the Sim I'm using the item on. These edges appear where my alpha should be creating transparency. This is making it impossible for me to make use anything but a polygonal style mesh for hair which is more poly intense than hair made using alpha.
I've been told that this is a shader issue which is why I'm posting about it in this thread. I've also been told that this issue is not something modders are going to be able to fix as it's built into the game. Can you shed any light on this? If this is built into the game when can we expect this problem to get fixed. If it isn't built into the game can you indicate a means of using alpha successfully on hair and other meshes?
