So ive been playing sims for s couple of years. Recently I upgraded to pc and for a short time everything was going fine. Well now I can't access my sims 4 after I click the X button to access the game when I load in. I believe its because of mods but at this point ive looked at every single mod I have (which is over 8,000+ mods) as well as tried to delete any images or files that shouldn't be there. Ive deleted anything outdated or had errors and tried shifting through everything but it seems impossible at this point! I am stuck because I have so many great mods that I don't want to delete all at once but am stuck at a stand still. One top of that my won't work so please if you can help I really need it. I dont want to delete everything but can't find what is causing the problem.

@KillerDead002 Let's confirm that the problem is a mod or CC. Move (not copy) the Mods folder to the desktop (or rename it), delete the file called localthumbcache, open the game to test, and exit without saving. If that works, then you can start at the lists in the current Broken/Updated Mods & CC post. If those don't solve your issue, the 50-50 is an efficient way to narrow causes down.

Stuck with the loading donut when I try to exit out of an ad to start?!

At this point I don't know what to do. I have tried everything even when it comes to deleting and moving all my mods, shifting through them all and everything. After a few moments it'll work and then it'll stop working. It just loads and won't go anywhere for hours!! Please if you can help me figure out what's going on comment down below, I don't want to have to redelete all my mods just to find one or 2 that are messing up.

@KillerDead002 Okay. Let's do the next more drastic thing and move your user folder out to make a new one. That's the folder Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4. The game will act like it's brand new and make a new one, but with some luck that clears your issue and you can put stuff back.

In case it doesn't, are you on a Mac or not a Mac?

You state in your opening post that you "upgraded to PC". Are you on a Windows PC? Even though a Mac is technically a PC (Personal Computer) the reference to PC is normally for Windows machines.

Have you tried a clean Sims 4 folder as @luthienrising asks? It is the only way to test whether your issue is Mod related which it totally sounds like it is. You can either move the Sims 4 folder from Documents > Electronic Arts to the desktop or simply rename it. The game will create a new one with none of your content loaded which is the most basic troubleshooting step to try.

I have a Mac and I was referring to when you first come into the game you see the little pop up for a package. I did indeed try to clean it and im almost positive it is something with a pack but I can not be sure what pack that is.
Ive done the 50/50 as well as deleted packs, moved packs, reorganized, and organized CC's. Im sot sure what is broken though.

If you require help follow the tips and instructions given and then come back if you're still having problems.

I did try a clean folder, have been a little busy with life the past few days, but it did work and then I tried 50/50 and I organized my files but I can't find the cause of the problems.

ive even repaired the game multiple times to see if it worked as well as uninstalled but its the mods.
