Turn build objects into interactive object.

Hi I have been trying to turn a window into interactive object. However have only succeeded in turning it into world object and can't add it as a window in my builds.
It could look marvellous in my sims garden as a feature portal but I need it to act as a window in my build.

Much advice appreciated
