Unable to edit builds!?

When I logged into the game today and went to edit my sims apartment it wouldn't let me select any items or walls. I also tried downloading a build from the gallery but was also not able to edit anything except removing flooring and changing outside wallpaper. I couldn't click on, delete or move any furniture, plants etc. 

Has anyone else had this issue since the recent update?
