unable to play sims 4 since dec 2021
I remember in December there was an update or something for things automatically added to the Sims 4. The last time I actually opened the game, I was prompted with a message asking if I would allow for the new things added. I said yes. I was asked to restart the game so I quit and tried to restart. I have not been able to open the Sims 4 since.
I open Origin and click on the Sims 4. It seems like everything is fine until the spinning pinwheel starts and Origin comes right back in a few seconds.
I've tried restarting the cache, removing mods, repairing the game, uninstalling Origin and the Sims 4.
I am heartbroken that I still can't play.
Any suggestions?
@PeriwinkleButton Please try playing in a clean user folder, as in, move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents\Electronic Arts and onto your desktop. When you launch the game, if it launches, a clean folder will spawn with no content. Don't add anything to it yet; just let me know whether you can get far enough to start a new save and play in live mode for a bit.
If this works, you can transfer your saves and other content from the old Sims 4 folder to the new one, but please keep testing in case adding one of those files causes the game to stop working again. If this doesn't help, please let me know whether your computer runs Windows or macOS.
