I like using the work at home versions of existing careers. NoelleBellefleur has some nice ones over at MTS.

My favorite is probably increased work day length + wages for GTW careers. I was getting incredibly frustrated at later levels meeting goals for promotions, and with the mod you can set 12-15 hour work days instead so you have time to accomplish everything and not crucify your sim's needs! It's by mummy_001 at MTS and I wouldn't ever use active careers without it!

I think kawaiistacie does some nice part-time jobs. They do actual jobs (i.e; Forever 21, Chuck E Cheese, etc.) that pay aprox. 50 simoleons between 5am-7am. I think it's great for my single parents.
