Will CC wreck my game?

CC won't ruin your game but they can make it launch and load slower. I have more than 2000 files in my Mods folder and the game takes like 3-5 seconds longer to launch.

Mine takes like 10 minutes XD I've also had to drop my setting from ultra to medium/ultra due to EXTREEMLY BAD LAG but I have about 8 gigs of cc

Sims 3 was hard for me with CC, because I had to use launcher to install it, so annoying. I usually always scan my CC folder with 2 antivirus XD and I have Comodo firewall on gaming mode always to be sure nothing is working without me knowing.

I've never had any huge problems with CC but you have to install it in small batches, checking your game as you go. And IMO it's a must have for this edition as you can get rid of that ugly plastic furniture and have more color choices. Also, if you do mods (not cc) then you have to check for updates every patch to make sure they are still compatible.

Never ever ever ever ever ever ever EVER get Norton antivirus -- It is a horrible!!!! It will significantly slow down the computer in general and barely detects any actual threat. Having said that, it is a good idea to invest in a decent program(s) to prevent serious damage and/or intrusion, look around and do your research. I use a combination of Adwcleaner - Detects and removes adware and some other nasties (free progam type it on google and use the bleeding computer link), Malwarebytes - Detects and removes malware (non pro version free) and Trend Micro - for when I am searching the web and downloading stuff in general (paid).

Some CC, known as "bad CC" can cause weird body morphs and can corrupt save files if you aren't careful. Usually downloading from reputable sources such as The Sims Resource and Mod the Sims will keep you from running into too many issues. Make sure you are cautious when downloading from other sites and tumblr as some files can be quite damaging to your game.

Depending on your computer's specs, and how much CC you have, your game can become laggy and have increased loading times. What are your computer's specs so I can have a better idea of what your computer is capable of handling?

As always before you make any major changes to your game, make sure your saves are backed up, as Murphy's law states: Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong.

Just remember CC is different than MODS.

And I thought my loading time was bad, lol. I only have about 2gb but that might change as CC look much nicer than EA's stuff. I mean round objects actually look round in my game now.

CC really does look better in some cases. Some cc I have is just.... Bad. And I wanted it to be good but it just isn't.

CC won't harm your game if you get it from the right places. I trust sites like Mod the Sims and The Sims Resource and They have some really great cc

I have 2 Gigas of CC, mods, whatever you ask and no it doesnt in general.

BUT be very careful when updating your sims game. Before updating (when origin tells you there is an update for sims 4, just take all your CC put in a backup place out of the Mods folder (a folder in your Documents for example). And then after updating put back all the CC that is clothes, furniture first, see if they work ok. Later put mods that are scripts or change the game (like evolve all plants, no culling, no censor, 3 columns in CAS, MC controller, More active careers, etc). Those are the type of mods that can mostly affect the game. Clothes, hair, furniture, "usually" don't affect the game as in the playing sense.

Also download from sites that you trust or others comment on it so you know is a trustworthy CC (Mod the sims, Sims 4 Nexus, The Sims Resource). You can also ask me if you need a specific CC I have so many I can tell you if it works ok lol.

I like No culling mod because it avoids deleting sims that are not in houses (like ghosts, your coworkers), but I recommend using it with "get population count mod" at the Mod Sims because it lets you know if your town is too overpopulated (it can make the game slower depending on your computer power). When my town gets around 220 or 230 I start deleting some random sims I don't need or know. So I can the game fast and smooth.
