Will CC wreck my game?

Haiii okay so I'm really tempted to download custom content for CAS but I don't know
- how to download it
- if it will ruin my game
- will it make everything laggy?

I'd only want it for CAS, e.g. hairstyles, makeup, eyes, eyelashes, the stuff that the base game doesn't provide. I'm on a laptop and have several TS4 & TS3 games on my laptop and I don't want CC to wreck my game or make it dodgy. I have a bit for TS3 but it was downloaded off the Sims 3 store so I trusted it.
Could you let me know if it's any good, if it would make my game laggy or even glitchy, and what sites are good to download from?

So much appreciation, thankyou! ♥

  • I've never had any huge problems with CC but you have to install it in small batches, checking your game as you go. And IMO it's a must have for this edition as you can get rid of that ugly plastic furniture and have more color choices. Also, if you do mods (not cc) then you have to check for updates every patch to make sure they are still compatible.
  • Other people have covered most of the bases, I'll just add that if you do end up having problems in your game because of bad cc or because a patch ends up borking something, you'll need to do what's called the 50/50 method to fix it. There's a pretty good explanation about how to handle problems here:

Never ever ever ever ever ever ever EVER get Norton antivirus -- It is a horrible!!!! It will significantly slow down the computer in general and barely detects any actual threat. Having said that, it is a good idea to invest in a decent program(s) to prevent serious damage and/or intrusion, look around and do your research. I use a combination of Adwcleaner - Detects and removes adware and some other nasties (free progam type it on google and use the bleeding computer link), Malwarebytes - Detects and removes malware (non pro version free) and Trend Micro - for when I am searching the web and downloading stuff in general (paid).

Sims 3 was hard for me with CC, because I had to use launcher to install it, so annoying. I usually always scan my CC folder with 2 antivirus XD and I have Comodo firewall on gaming mode always to be sure nothing is working without me knowing.

I did that too.. but apparently it was hidden smth smth.. because they found it later but it was too late... anyway.. lappie is gone.. and I did downloaded mods later but was scanning them like crazy with antimalware, antivirus etc;)) and this time I was lucky but it wasn't cc and with cc.. I am just too afraid to do so after the experience, but ty for the advice;))

Have antimalware and yeah norton can be crappy.. but will definitely check all your recommendations:)) thank you so much for them :))))) <3
  • I just started using custom content about two months ago. Then I downloaded something that broke my laptop. Since then I was able to remove the malware, but now my game crashes regularly. I am close to deleting all saves and custom content and starting all over
