Brand New PS5 - SIMS4 Game wont save / constantly loads user agreement

I have a brand new PS5 I bought just to play sims 4, since it ran very slowly on my ps4. It does not save any game progress whatsoever and brings up the user agreement each time I load the game. I have tried re-logging into my playstation account and using different accounts. The PS5 is BRAND NEW with NOTHING ELSE loaded onto it and easily has over 500gb free memory. Can anyone assist with this issue?

  • Hey there @io61wje7s97k,

Please be sure to fully open the user agreement by pressing the Square and Triangle button on your controller- from here be sure to accept the agreement.

Once you've fully accepted the user agreement, this should prevent it from showing each time you launch the game, and allow you to save your game progress.

  • Eventually found the user agreement! At no point is there an option to sign this agreement. No tick point or 'confirm youve read the User Agreement' option.

We have however found the save button but it's shaded and does not give us ability to press it! Useful! Come on EA..

  • Not sure if this is a bug or just something I'm not doing.

I recently cleared all by saves and started with a fresh slate, with the intent of resolving the lag and crash issues inherent with The Sims 4 of consoles.  That was about two weeks ago now and every time I load up the game I have to re-accept the end user agreements and do a fresh screen safe-zone adjustment.  It is not saving either of these.

I am able to save my game just fine otherwise and the screen adjustment stays fine through play, but every time I boot the game back up I have to do it all over again.  I have tried completely re-installing the game, I have scrolled through the entirety of both agreements, even viewed them after the game was already loaded, and performed a screen adjustment again from the options, but no matter what I do, I keep having to re-accept and re-adjust every time I came into the game.  I know that, before I cleared those old legacy saves, the game had saved these settings and I didn't have to redo them every time I came into the game.

So, am I doing something wrong or is there something more I need to do?

I made my own post regarding the XBox version, but it appears to have been added to this thread, since it appears to be a similar issue, I suppose.

This has not worked for me.  I am fully going through both of the agreements, scrolling to the end of each one and hitting the accept for them.  It then has me make a fresh adjustment to the safe zone for the game.  This is every time I load up the game.  Before I started over with fresh saves, it would automatically load my screen adjustment.

I have also noticed a couple of other odd things that the game is doing again that it hasn't for a long time, such as occasionally losing the ability to shift between outfits types (general, formal, sleep, swim, etc..) with the shoulder bumpers until I have exited the game and reloaded again.  I have repeatedly tried to get the game to recognize that I have accepted the EULAs and adjusted my safe zone, but it just resets every time I load the game.

I have also completely un-installed and re-installed the game and all mods, but that didn't help either.  It feels like deleting the old (legacy saves that went back about three years with a dozen and half households) has caused the game to also stability lose updates or something.

Just an update on this issue.  I'm posting it, in case others are having this issue as well and also getting generally ignored or routed to this thread when it doesn't actually apply to the problem.

I continued to have the problem of it continuing to not take my inputs for accepting the User Agreement and save the screen adjustments until it received a new SDX drop.  When it did the restart after downloading the SDX, it actually saved my inputs once and for all and I haven't had to put them in again since.  It appears the issue is simply one of intercommunication between the console and the main game servers.  When it finally connected to do the update and restart, it finally sent the packet info for the EULA and screen settings to the account information and saved it.

So, if you're having this issue and can't get it to go away, it may well clear itself up on the next SDX or update when it installs the new files.  Until that point, the best advice is to just patiently keep plugging the info in when you open the game.  Hope this helps anyone who is getting frustrated with this like I was.
