Build/Buy mode not working xbox one

I havent been able to find any fixes for this so here goes.. Ive been playing the same household for 4 generations now and it just started where I go into build/buy and can only buy or place one thin...

    So my husband just came in and showed my how to fully close out of a game on Xbox One since it keeps them partially running So you can resume where you left off. And I closed it and relaunched and it seems to be working now. I feel pretty dumb.. And like I wasted my entire day on a "did you plug it in?" Type fix. So I'm gonna fade into the mist now and live in temporary shame... Lol thanks so much for your help, you were great

Thank you for moving the thread to the right place. 

When I try to place walls I can make one wall, hit B until I'm out of the menus, reselect walls and place another m When I try to place an item(beds appliances anything) it will place the first one, when I try to place another item (of the same kind or different kind) it doesnt place and just disappears. The only way to place another item is to go to live mode, reopen build mode and repeat for every item.

There is no error message. It continues to happen on any game, including starting a brand new game.

Thanks for the update, @Songieallerya.

Let's see if we can troubleshoot the saves, just in case. If you have your game progress saved to the cloud, then let's try to delete the local save to pull the data from the cloud. This will ensure it's a fresh file from Microsoft's servers.

I cannot stress enough to verify that there is a cloud save before deleting your local files. If you have a 4 generation family, we don't want to lose them if they're only saved locally.

Once you have removed only the local save files, then go ahead and reload the game and it should sync the cloud save. After that, please give build mode another try and let me know how it goes.

    I'm not 100% sure on if I have a cloud save for it. I'm looking at the saved games for sims 4 and when I click my husbands profile's saves it says the delete will be permanent because its not backed up. And on mine it gives me the option of delete from console or delete from,everywhere so im assuming that means I have a cloud save? Maybe?
