I created an account just so I can tell you how awful this PC control update is for consoles.
I play on xbox S. I really don't understand the need or desire to make the controls more like PC's. If I wanted to play on a PC I would but I prefer a controller over a mouse and keyboard.
Build mode is completely ruined this way. The open catalog on the bottom takes up a third of the screen and if I'm in a bigger build, the Catalog makes the build mode LAG sooooo bad unless I select household inventory because its either empty or nearly empty and there isn't a ton to load.
I hate the new way to select a color for an item. I use a controller, not a mouse so having to use a toggle bar on the right and click in the exact right spot for the color swatches to pop up is a nightmare.
Undoing something opens the search bar every time.
Toggling between full room or by wall tiles for windows or walls often makes the build mode switch between old control configuration and the new which is super annoying.
I hate the new way to select a color/pattern for an item from the catalog.
CAS crashes or doesn't pop up what is selected when clicked on from the options.
I hate the new way to select a color/pattern for an item from the catalog.
On a plus side, my sims tattoos are finally not blurry anymore in live mode.
Did I mention I absolutely hate the new way to select a color or pattern for an item from the catalog?
I don't understand why anyone thought this was a good idea. Do you guys not test anything first before rolling it out? The past year or updates and bug "fixes" has been a nightmare. Sims 4 has almost become completely unplayable. I usually build mostly but now that seems unfeasible too.
