Two weeks ago patch 1.69 broke the Sims 4 on console. Live mode crashed every few minutes and b/b got a PC interface. Since patch 1.70 the crash problem seems to be solved so i tried to play a bit more over the weekend. So far i found the new interface irritating and building was a lot slower. Over the weekend i started to hate the b/b interface more and more. There new interface had NO advantages over the old one.The experience overall is a lot worse. Building is not fun anymore.
Was patch 1.69 ever (play)tested? Every change made the interface worse. As asked before in this thead: Who asked for this? Having to move the pointer with a controller as if it were a mouse is frustrating (try using the scrollbar to find the item you want, i want to use the cursor keys as before). Losing a lot of screenspace because of the menu that is always open makes building a lot harder. Having to drag and drop items from your home inventory to a "Sell" field to sell them is ridiculous (i had to sell a stack of 10 items so i had to drag and drop 10 times. In the past selling was just pressing a button). The new interface should be removed completely and the old interface should be put back, not only b/b but also the R2 instead of X since it is inconsistently used. Sometimes its R2 sometimes you have to navigate to the checkmark button.
I want to go back to the time before patch 1.69 where the game was playable and fun (although buggy). The lack of response to the long list of complaints in this thread does not give me confidence anything will happen. The Sims is a very expensive game to play with all the DLC. It's a shame that this not translate in better development; the game is still very buggy and the console version is made worse than before. Console players especially seem to be treated like second rate customers (although they have to pay the full price). For now I will find something else to play. If the old interface is restored i may give it another try but i don't trust EA anymore to not pull another stunt like this and break the console version of TS4 again.
