Personally, I find it extremely difficult to use the new build mode controls. For reference, I am on PS4 and I use a regular DualShock controller.
1. The catalog of items no longer disappears when I press circle, and it makes it harder to see what I am building/I can't get a great view of it.
2. Scrolling... why? I can't scroll unless I use my joystick and drag my cursor to the scroll bar, even then I have to keep adjusting my joystick in order to get through the catalog. It's very tedious.
There is one other thing, but I can't figure out how to word it well. Apologies if this next one doesn't make much sense.
3. Choosing categories of items. Personally, I never use the category tab (that shows the little pictures of different items all on one page, like shelves, chairs, hobby stuff, etc.), but I have been resorting to using that because it's the only way I can easily find what I need. USUALLY, I tend to use the tab that shows off objects based on the rooms they could be in (usually goes kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, living room, and so on). However, I haven't been able to use it because once I click on an item (let's say beds from the bedroom tab): I choose my bed and place it, then I go to press circle to go back to the bedroom tab and close the catalog of beds but it does not close. Then, I get stuck on the catalog for beds. Then once I fix it, I have to REOPEN the whole catalog and manually use the joystick to select the items I want instead of being able to jump from item to item (like we used to).
Building on console is just very difficult and not much fun for me as of right now. I haven't touched the Sims in a few weeks. I hope you guys will give us the option to go back to the old controls (if we would like) or keep the new ones. I am sure other people might find it easy, but I would LOVE to have the option to change back.
