Disappearing UI after build mode / worlds screen black / main menu white

Question

Hi there! Playing Sims 4 on PS4 which is updated to the latest version (both the game and the PS4 system). I don’t play using mods.

Since the Grim Reaper event launched, I notice that after I click into build mode and return to live mode, the UI has disappeared for everything except for the top right hand menu (build mode / manage worlds etc). It becomes unplayable as I’m unable to interact with objects in the household. When I exit the household using manage worlds, the screen goes completely black, and when returning to the main menu it’s completely white.
the only thing that seems to resolve (temporarily) is to shut down the game completely and restart , however I’ve run into this situation a few times in the last couple of weeks and it’s quite limiting to overall gameplay.

Me too, and I have the PS4 version on my PS5 😭

I don't think it's something to do with packs. It has to do with that new grim reaper event. That icon it puts to check your rewards completely glitches it out. There's no get around to this too, which sucks, and EA should hurry and do something about this. Oh, not to mention, with the Seasons pack, the goals for the current holiday disappear often because of this too.
