Product: The Sims 4
Platform:Microsoft XBOX One
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.48
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Load a family into a lot and play in live mode on a residential lot for a while. Then, go into build/buy mode and add, delete, or move an object. Then go back into live mode.
What happens when the bug occurs? The game, in live mode, crashes 5 minutes after using build/buy mode. The ONLY doesn't crash if I first go into manage worlds, then use build/buy mode, then load back into my household.
What do you expect to see? The game shouldn't crash.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? On console - never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure
It doesn't matter what lot it's on, I've tested it. The house I'm using doesn't have that many items and it doesn't have any custom paintings. I've tried deleting objects from the house. There's no mannequins. There's no basement. I've tried saving my house to the library and then placing it again. I've tried saving my household to the library and then recreating them again. I've tried deleting some sims from the household. I've moved lots. I've power cycled my console twice and cleared my reserved space several times. Every single time I use build/buy directly from my household, it crashes.
On the crashing, just so you can still get some gameplay (though it's beyond frustrating when you can't use your chosen lot on a pack you've paid for) some worlds seem more affected by the crashing than others. I'm avoiding Cottage Living, City Living, Snowy Escape Lots as in my game they are badly affected by crashing and I recently can't travel, build, save and exit from those worlds without CTH.
I've had more luck with base game worlds and Glimmerbrook, Strangerville and Windenburg and managed to build, save, etc without crashing in those worlds. So until this is addressed you might have a bit more gameplay in some other worlds, fingers crossed for you. Good luck, let's hope we get a fix soon!

Well, I built the house on a Willow's Creek lot at first and that's where it started crashing, so I moved it to The Ward Den in Del Sol Valley and the same thing happened. I have pretty much all the packs now so at this point, I'm kinda stuck no matter what. Lol But the workaround I found was NEVER going into CAS or Build/Buy directly from Live Mode and instead, going to Manage Worlds first and then going into CAS or Build/Buy from there. Haven't crashed since I've tried those ways... I hope this and the makeup get fixed soon.
- simsplayer8184 years agoHero@RenasaiH You sound like you've reached the point I did earlier this year. I upgraded my console as all of my packs were too much for my Xbox one. As I mentioned in earlier posts I got Microsoft involved. They didn't try to sell me anything but told me to uninstall and reinstall my game and packs and do a console reset. I deleted it all and began rebuilding from scratch. I then got a series S. It's a big improvement, but when the occasional crashing started again very recently it's been beyond aggravating. It's not crashing anywhere near as much unless I'm in the city or cottage living world. In fact I've managed a few days of no crashing in Sulani now.
I feel like I'm throwing more money at it when it really needs much more work on stability issues. When I see an update with Bonsai Tree fixes...well let's say that didn't go over so well in my house when I'd had high hopes! I've been pretty dismayed by the last 2 updates.
I saved Eco Living to add at Xmas with blooming rooms kit but am really hesitant now.- EricaMims20204 years agoSeasoned Veteran
I personally cannot purchase more stuff when I can't even load the game an play it. I have exhausted all options now.
