@ladyonecstacy Hi, I had the exact same thing happen to me when I had way too much stuff across all my saves and weirdly whenever I planted things from Granite Falls (outdoor retreat) on my home lot.
There is a troubleshooting thread for console lag that has some realy good tips in it.
For me personally I found clearing out my unplayed sims household and personal inventory, fridges and any storage chests/boxes and also removed any photos my sim had taken that I'd hung up. Also I like to go into Manage Households and delete any NPCs that aren't currently in world. And if you're feeling brutal I highly recommend deleting any saves you haven't played in a long time. A few months ago I deleted seven out of ten saves that I haven't played in over 6 months and that really helped with lagging on my console.
