Grimm Reaper Killed the Sims 4 on XBox

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:Xbox Series S
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? ? Unable to access
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Snowy escape, jungle escape, knitting, bowling, my first pets, pets, get together, ecolifestyle, strangerville, camping. I can't access it all right now
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I can't, the game will not load completely since Week 2 of the Grimm Reaper event.
What happens when the bug occurs? The load simply stops and my XBox One screen appears instantly
What do you expect to see? The game to load
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. When the 2nd week of the Grimm Reaper event was introduced. It loaded the first time as a "New Game". I backed out and it has not completed loading since that time. Impossible to send you screen shots as it simply crashes

It's like there is a virus now in my game. All other Non-Sims games work fine.

NoTE THAT ON WEEK 1 OF Grimm he appeared in the Men's Style designed by my "Influencer" Sim....overtop of his Spooky gown.

Also one of my Sims made friends with Grimm that first week ☹️of the challenge...

  • @TheChatrock I would try powercycling your console to see if that helps your loading issues. Instructions in the attached troubleshooting steps:

    https://answers.ea.com/t5/Consoles/READ-FIRST-Console-Troubleshooting-Guide-and-Known-Issues-Patch/m-p/12363039#M19682

Your game version number can be found without opening the game, just select Sims 4 on your console home screen using the menu button (with 3 lines on it) and go to Manage Game and Add-ons. I'm attaching an image to show you where it is.

Viruses aren't something you can get through Sims 4 or through games in general really. You'd be more exposed to those by using Microsoft Edge on your console, there are a few issues with loading at the moment but yours sounds like something has possibly happened with the Reaper event.

Let us know how you get on.

Thanks for trying to help. I did the power down , it didn't help. I uninstalled  and reinstalled  my Sims 4. It didn't  help. I reset XBox One to factory settings. It didn't help.

For those reasons I feel the Grimm Reaper event has a virus.

@TheChatrock With the Sims we call it a bug rather than a virus and there are some bugs with loading at the moment, your issue may be part of that same problem but let's look at a couple more troubleshooting steps. Have you tried completely disconnecting your console from your WiFi and reconnecting it again a couple of times? Since the Series S is an online console that can also cause added connection issues, I experienced that when I was running the game on Series S.
How much memory is free on your console?
