@DSSB22 I finally got my (console) game working again, so I will try to help you. It was a battle, so be prepared. What console are you on?
Part One:
Here is my general set of suggestions (this will be a bit more difficult on XBOX consoles): Do not try to go into your last saved game, do not select Resume. If on PS, *before turning Sims 4 on* save to USB. Buy a USB that fits in the PS console, go to Application Saved Data Management, then select to save your System Data to USB. Check your system storage and delete any unnecessary games, if you can. Make sure you have some remaining storage for Sims 4 and DLC. Check your internet connection as well. The Reaper's Rewards do not load easily with a poor internet connection, from what I have seen so far. If on XBOX consoles, clear the cache. On either console, power cycle if needed. On XBOX One, some problems actually resolve if you transfer to or sync with and use one of the current generation XBOX Series S or X consoles instead. (I know that is expensive and impractical if you don't have the system yet, but if you do or were already planning,) I can only vouch for some issues caused by Data corruption on an old XBOX One cloud save. The faster processing of the current generation systems allowed the game to finally load again. On XBOX One, the game would not load anymore at all and was stuck on initial loading screen. There was minimal corruption in the Library, marked with red X's. Delete any corrupted files.
Part Two:
If possible, delete your last played Autosave. This is almost always corrupted when the game crashes. A corrupted Autosave can completely prevent your game from loading. It is important to delete it or overwrite it.
Part Three:
On Playstation consoles, once the Autosave is deleted, you should be able to at least get beyond the initial loading screen. On XBOX, delete it if possible. (Don't remember if you can delete Autosave on XBOX.) If there is no button option to delete it, Select New Game, which takes you to CAS. Make a Sim, or load a previously made Sim (family, etc.) if you have that capability (Library or Gallery working, etc.). Save your Sim (household) if you want to, then hit Play button, choose your photo, and continue playing as usual. (If you have Seasons, select Season.) Select your neighborhood. (The game may crash here, if it does, let me know.) Select a Lot, etc. Do not use Lot Challenges besides Scare Seeker until the Grim Reaper's Rewards Event is over. Start Live Mode. Save your game or at least play for a bit, go to CAS through a mirror. Don't linger in CAS for more than 15 minutes in case there are current CAS issues I am unaware of. This should overwrite your Autosave, even for XBOX.
Part Four:
If on PS4/5: If your game works but crashes again, delete any corrupted saves and/or Library (only delete Library if corrupted, it is not necessarily involved all of the time), then make a clean save, preferably to a separate US, or save last data from USB to computer, then overwrite with a clean save. Do NOT delete your USER DATA unless you do not care about acquisition of any Grim Reaper's Rewards Event content. Now that you have the uncorrupted data saved to USB, remove it from system and attempt playing as usual. If you already have previous saves, you can reload from before the Reaper's Event, but keep (don't delete or overwrite) your User Data if possible.
Try these steps first. I will write more if you can get to this point of restoration. Also, check out
@simsplayer818's thread for troubleshooting on console. Also, feel free to read my other posts in October 2024 detailing the steps I took to get my game running again since experiencing multiple glitches related to the (fun when working properly) Reaper's Event and last series of updates (patch 1.99 and 2.00 especially, and up to the current one as of November 3rd, 2024). I hope this helps. I have more ideas if you need them.
