Loss of control in CAS, cursor disappears.

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:Sony Playstation 4
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Occasionally (10% - 49%)
What is your current game version number? 1.27
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All but Eco Lifestyle
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? CAS
What happens when the bug occurs? As I’m going through options in CAS my cursor will disappear. I’m unable to click anything but my “joysticks” will function (move closer and further away) Options stop working, touchpad stops working. I can click the PS button and go through any other part of PS4 just fine with the buttons. Tried different controllers, tried turning off the controllers and back on, nothing but then the inability to click “OK” because controller disconnected.
What do you expect to see? Not having the complete loss of control of the game. Can’t even save in CAS.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? On console - never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

  • @midtwilightblue There are some reported issues with controls in the CAS, but yours sounds different. Can you please try the following troubleshooting steps.

Try plugging your controller in to the PS4 using a cable, see if the connection issue persists.

DS4 Troubleshooting full guide here. C/P of a small section below.

To reset your controller follow the steps below:

    1. Turn off your PS4 and unplug it from the power source.

    2. Unplug your router or modem from the power source. Sometimes connecting issues are caused by internet router WIFI signals, unplugging it will help troubleshoot the connection issue. Locate the small reset button on the back of the DUALSHOCK, located near the L2 button.

    3. Use a small, unfolded paper clip or something similar to push the button inside the tiny hole. Hold the button down for roughly 3-5 seconds and release.

    4. Then, re-connect your DUALSHOCK 4 (micro USB port located on the back) to your PS4 (USB port located on the front), using the USB cable that came with your PS4.

    5. Plug your PS4 into a power source. Don't plug your internet router in at this time. Press the PS button on DUALSHOCK 4 controller and then log into your profile.

The issue is likely with your internet router and you need to contact your Internet Service Provider, or if you purchased your own router, contact the product manufacturer and make a request to change the broadcast channel.

This means your controller is not connecting to your PS4. If the troubleshooting above didn't work and your DUALSHOCK 4 is with the one-year warranty period, you can send your DUALSHOCK 4 in for service. Visit the Fix & Replace page for more information.

@midtwilightblue I have a small work around for this issue. Plug in a mouse and wait for cursor to appear then unplug it. It has worked for me so far.
  • @midtwilightblue Literally had this today but it also comes up with unavailable while in Tutorial for all save options and gallery options. I wasn’t in a tutorial and only happens when I click the identity option on the top left of the screen….
