Re: Sims 4 Lag on PS4

@PoptartJuniper From the time I launch the game, my sims have this problem of just standing around frozen all the time while time is still ticking. It makes them late for work, it makes them pass out from exhaustion, etc. Other than that, every time I try to take a picture in game with the phone camera, it feels like my whole game is gonna crash. The game freezes for minutes, and when i finally can take pictures sometimes i have to hit the x button like 20 times to take one picture. Sometimes the fame that my sims have earned shows up on people that aren't famous. My cats will straight up starve themselves instead of eat because it takes them so long to do anything, I have to tell them to eat cuz they wont otherwise pretty much. Sims dont come to my front door when they visit my property anymore and I dont even have a gate. They stand on the sidewalk in front of my house unless I notice them, which I frequently dont. Sims trying to talk to other sims while eating or painting or gardening etc will cause them to freeze up and spend hours longer doing whatever it is they should've been doing. Frequently my game stops recognizing the input from the dpad so I cant go up and down floors, I cant show or hide walls, or go to top down view. Frequently when I click on an item in build mode the item just wont show up after i select it and I have to back out of the menu and reopen it. When a sim is walking a pet on a leash I cant talk to them. If I do they will stop walking their pet and stay frozen in place for hours. Sometimes my sims will start talking to people that aren't on my lot and are on the other side of town. Like I can see them talking to thin air and if I try to find who they're talking to it's always some rando walking through town. Also I have had plants just dissapear when I have too many on a property (like more than 20). I'm sure there are other issues I'll think of as I play more, but I just got these expansions and started playing again on ps4 prob 3 days ago. You really dont have these same issues? Cuz with all the stuff I was reading, I thought these issues were super common.

@koshion220 Almost everything you have listed already has open bug reports or threads here in the console board.

Again, I encourage you to read the current Issues Thread for Console: [Read First][Current Issues] Game Issues or Crashes and the known list of issues at the bottom. You can also search the bug forum for current threads and post there.

The other threads I have linked to you also has information that will help you resolve the standing around all the time in the simulation lag thread.

Now im getting a new problem. My game isnt even loading anymore. I'm stuck on The Sims 4 title screen, not even the loading screen or start menu. Idek what to do at this point, my game has literally become unplayable.

Idk what the problem was but the game literally wasnt loading at all. Not even going to the screen where it tells you to press x. No loading screen. It was just the screen that looks like the icon you click on from the ps4 menu. Eventually what I did was I ended up moving all my applications off my ps4 into an external except for sims 4 so I have plenty of space for it now, I deleted the user data for the game because that seems like it fixes a lot of other glitches for people, and I also unplugged my console for a minute. The game is working better now, I also moved my family of 5 into a significantly smaller house.

@koshion220 Okay, I'm glad that worked for you. Sometimes a database rebuild in safe mode helps with some stuck on load screen issues. If your drive was very full though, that also can cause trouble.

My first save on PS4 had a huge house and a huge lot in brindleton bay, and I could barely play them. The stuttering and lag was so bad. I even submitted that save to QA.

I've gone back to that save and moved them to a small house with next to no packs present in the build and all the weird time shifts and lag has disappeared. The micro stuttering is still a thing, even on PS5. Actually, all my builds use very little packs and I avoid the large lots. It is a bummer to use these restrictions but it does help keep the gameplay struggles to a minimum, barring the actual bugs.

I definitely understand the frustration of not being able to load and play your families.
