I deleted my oldest and biggest save file that I wasn't playing anymore. After that there are 8 files, including the test one I just created.

With that many save slots in use, it does sound like your game is running low on storage space. Please try deleting some additional save files to clear up more space.
Okay, I will do that. Also, I don't know if it's relevant but I do have all of the packs and kits. And I just remembered that every time I got the error code when I closed the game it was updating.
OK, so I deleted 3 more files so I only have 5 now. I was just playing on my test file (which is my newest one) and when I tried to save I got the error code again.

How many lots or rooms do you currently have stored in your Library in The Gallery?
I deleted the majority of builds that were in my gallery library, including sims community builds that were automatically added. Currently I have 210 lots and 11 rooms. Most of the builds are 300 KB or less (about 160 of them).

Thanks, that's still a fairly large amount of lots to have saved- please try clearing out more room in your Library, be sure to delete the larger lots or any lots that use a lot of Build/Buy items.
