Update:
There were multiple problems with this copy of Sims 4 but I was able to *finally* get the game running again for 3 hours after weeks of struggling with crashes and other issues. I am not sure if this is resolved but there has been progress. In case this happens again, or to anyone else, I am detailing the steps taken so far so that others can fix their games. (This was a battle!)
1.) Updated Playstation 4 and Sims 4.
2.) Noticed that the thumbnails for the saved data in Application Saved Data Management were gray and/or appearing with a broken image. Will not use the corrupted save USB stick again in any PS4/5, just in case.
3.) Turned system off.
4.) Rebuilt PS4 database.
5.) Deleted ALL saved data for Sims 4: Deleted Autosave, all save files, Library, and User Data.
6.) Used a previously saved USB (not the last one, but the one before that to avoid corruption) and restored all files to system storage except for the Autosave -- it is usually best to delete the Autosave after glitches, crashes, or corruption since keeping it may subject you to the same problems as before.
7.) Loaded Sims 4. Loaded the second to last save file played, just in case last save had corruption or game-ending glitches.
8.) Progress on Reaper's Rewards was set back but not eliminated. All claimed items were there but anything unclaimed yet unlocked was gone.
So far, the game is working again. I have not checked CAS Mode, Library, Gallery, Build Mode, or leaving the lot. I hope this game has been fully restored. Playing cautiously now, hoping to avoid glitches. Lost progress on Reaper's Rewards and have to replay the same part again. Hopefully there's time to finish the event. Be careful repeating any actions that caused game to crash until they are patched out and resolved.
