Re: Island Living missing from PlayStation

Each time someone opens a forum asking what happened to their city living expansion pack on their PlayStation account, they are informed that “The City Living DLC was removed from PlayStation Plus and replaced by Island Living.” So then why am I not able to play Island Living? A replacement means it takes the place of something. I had City Living and now I do not. It was replaced by Island Living but.. big surprise.. I don’t have island living. Can you explain?

On another note: what makes you think it’s okay to remove an entire expansion from people’s library? After spending so much time on customization and building, you just take it away. All of that time and history on saved households and stories are gone. For what? It’s extremely frustrating. You promised something and then take it away. So I should expect this from you guys?

And then you make it $40+ to purchase city living??? Why did you think this was ok? You misled so many loyal users.

Hi, PlayStation plus acts like a rental service for games and add ons, they retain the license that allows you access to the content so you never own it in the same way you would if you paid for it, it's also Sony's decision to remove content from PlayStation plus not EA maxis. From what I gather island living has also been removed from ps plus, but don't quote me on that. I've lost games I've downloaded through ps plus in the past, one day they just disappeared from my library so can relate to your frustration. Hope this helps clear things up a bit 🙂

Yeah I can understand the ps plus licensing aspect. Unfortunately it’s still frustrating that they think $40 for an expansion pack is reasonable. I can buy a full complex, high-graphic style game with the bonus features for that much. Insane. I can’t stand greedy developers.

The good thing about City Living and Island Living is when they go on sale they're 50% off because they're older packs and they seem to be on sale quite alot too, most ps store sales have sims packs in them, worth keeping an eye out to get them half price 🙂
