Sims 4 Not Loading the Main Menu

So i went on my xbox series x yesterday to see if the next part of the event had started yet, and the event said it had 1 day before the new quests were up, so I just launched the sims 4 today on the xbox and I press A to start, the loading wheel starts up but then suddenly stops, the audio eventually finishes and your met with complete silence, and the game doesn't continue loading it just stays frozen, doesn't even reach the main menu.

I've tried relaunching it several times now, Press A to start sign into my profile, loading wheel appears, and nothing no actual loading, no main menu. 

I just don't get it, there wasn't an update last night after I was on the sims 4 or this today that broke it was there? 

Also I'm playing base game at the moment, while I do have DLC I have the Dlc installed on my external hard drive NOT the internal storage like I  have the sims 4 base game(which in case anyone Is wondering - that usually works fine) However I didn't have the external hard drive plugged in last night when I was playing just fine -pure base game, nor do I have it plugged in now, so I know for a fact that none of DLC is related to the problem.
