Sims 4 unplayable PS5 9.21.2021

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PlayStation 5
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.48
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Cottage living, snow escape, eco lifestyle, discover university, island living, get famous, seasons, cats and dogs, city living, get together, get to work, dream home decorator, journey to batuu, realm of magic, strangerville, jungle adventure, parenthood, vampires, dine out, spa day, outdoor retreat, paranormal, nifty knitting, tiny living, Moschino, my first pet, laundry day, toddler, fitness, bowling night, vintage glamor, backyard, kids room, romantic garden, movie hangout, spooky, cool kitchen, perfect patio, luxury party, free stuff, industrial loft kit, courtyard Oasis kit, country Kitchen kit, throwback fit kit
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I'm using a lot by 'SheIsDahKing' titled '1738 New Castle Way' in the gallery. Placed on the largest lot (64×64) in 'Old New Henford' Then I added a six sim family: adult female, adult male, child male, child female, two Tibetan Mastiffs. After you've added the family to the home attempt to enter build mode and the game will crash. Load the game again and try to save after playing in 5 minute intervals and the save files will begin losing texture. Save the family and attempt to reload them into the game, The family you've already created will start showing notification saying you do not have the content you just use to create them...
What happens when the bug occurs? Three separate things started happening at the exact same time (9/28/2021 Morning EST). 1st : The game will 100% crash while trying to enter build mode during gameplay. You can sometimes successfully enter build mode from the map screen. Even then I'm still getting a crash response about 70% of the time. When reloading the game I first noticed the second part, 2nd : On the 'Load Game'/'Save Game' screen any changes that I've made since the bug started (9/28/2021 Morning EST) are missing texturers for family members and pets. Showing purplish blocks instead. 3rd : I keep getting messages whenever I pull things from the gallery saying that I don't own the content but I play on console and have never played around with custom content and I own all of the packs so I'm not sure why I keep getting this message.
What do you expect to see? I expect all textures to load and save correctly I expect to be able to enter build mode and live mode freely without crashing I expect the game to know that I have the content I just use 20 minutes prior
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? On console - never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No

I'm really confused because it seems like somehow my files got disturbed but I play on console so I definitely didn't edit them myself and whenever I Google or look around for a solution it doesn't seem like this should be possible on console and I'm very worried because I've bought all the packs and given my all to the Sims and EA and if I suddenly can't play anymore I'm gonna loose it.

  • @SheIsDahKing Your second issue sounds like this bug: Content not Installed when placing household from gallery. Please post there about that error message you are seeing and click the "Me Too" button at the bottom of the first post on the first page of the thread. This error is visual, and isn't removing anything from your sims or game.

For your main issue, there's a bug here Game Creating tons of Empty Households that affects the Cottage living world. This can cause your game save to become too large, and cause issues.

Otherwise, the lot you have downloaded is possibly just too big and too full of stuff for your console. Some of those lots are packed full of items and use every pack, and are just too much for the consoles to handle. When you are downloading lots from the online gallery, you must be mindful of how large and how cluttered they are. The cost of the lot is usually a good indicator of just how much stuff is packed into it.

Try removing the lot from your game and downloading a smaller lot for that space, and also check your households to see if you have a lot of empty households.
