Sims are unable to leave the bathroom

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:Sony Playstation 4 Pro and PC
Which language are you playing the game in? Dutch / English
How often does the bug occur? Often on PS4 (50% - 99%), Seldom on PC (<25%)
What is your current game version number? PS4, PC 1.53.115.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? PS4: base game, PC: island living, city living, parenthood, dine out, toddler stuff, bowling night stuff, perfect patio stuff
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Sims use the bathroom as regular, shower or toilet, but are unable to leave. This is regardless of the bathroom layout, even without doors and a two section wide opening without blocking furniture they remain stuck.
What happens when the bug occurs? Sims will decline any user indicated action outside of the bathroom, waving and signaling the action is not possible. They will remain in the bathroom, looking in the mirror or playing on their phones and not take any action to leave themselves, even with low hunger and energy bars.

After saving & reloading the game or even just entering an exiting build mode, Sims are able to leave the bathroom again.
What do you expect to see? I expect sims to leave the bathroom after they are finished. And also to be able to move out of the bathroom if instructed to do so. Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Not Sure, but I haven't seen this behavior before 19th of June 2019.

    @Crowtje I would like to encourage your to make a bug report for further testing and to see if others post with the same issue. I am going to see about getting your post merged with this post where others are others are having issues with their sims getting stuck in bathroom. Then if I can get you to make the bug report, please tag me in it and I will make sure they merge this other thread into the bug report. Thank you!
    This is the other thread on the issue. There are suggestions there to try, plus there is a workaround that one person found helped in their game. I am going to do some further testing on this in my game today and see if I can reproduce the issue.     I just had this happen in the nightclub in Ravenwood.
         As an amendment to this statement, I think the door to the hallway that leads to the bathrooms was possibly what was actually preventing my sim from leaving the bathroom, or both doors were doing it.

    I would fill out a bug report, but I'm not familiar with the forums and don't how to do that in an existing thread like I've seen others do, but maybe they're just merged posts?
         I only use clothing CC and visual overrides by the way.
