Unable to select anything in live mode sims 4

After upgrading my house I went back into live mode where I could not select anything and my sims where stuck in the same action they were doing. It was making all the sounds like I was selecting stuff but wouldn’t come up with the menus. The normal save menu worked but everything else didn’t in live mode. This happened just as I was going to save because I finished a big build but it got stuck loading the save. I had to restart and lost all my progress. It was fine when I reloaded, but has done this the last couple times I have played the sims 4 on ps4. Is there anyway to fix this issue so I don’t have to restart the game every time and lose my progress?

    No error codes or anything. it kinda freezes but time in the game is still going with all the sounds.

    Thanks, let's give these steps a try:

    Turn off Your system completely, let it sit for a few minutes and power it back on.

    Check that your game is fully updated:

    • Go to the PlayStation home screen. 
    • Highlight the game you're playing and press the Options button on your controller.
    • Select "Check For Update" and install any updates that are available.
    • Restart the Console completely.

    Make sure your console system software is up to date. 

    • Select Settings at the top of the PlayStation home screen.
    • Choose "System Software Update" and allow any system updates to install.
    • Reboot your PlayStation.

    Uninstall and Reinstall the game:

    • Go to Settings > Application Saved Data Management > Saved Data in System Storage > Delete.
    • Select a game or application.
    • Set check marks beside the data you wish to delete or Select All.
    • Select Delete > then OK to confirm your decision.
