Why does my Sims 4 keep crashing on my Xbox one?

I have spent a lot of money on this game. I own every add on but one (The Romantic Garden). I have just now started to have issues. I have played for a year straight and crashed once or twice. Now I can not save or travel in the game at all without being sent back out to the loading screen. I see this has been an on going problem with people for some time now. Are you working on a fix or was this a huge waste of money? Is there an update that will help? Please?

  • I have the same issue ! It seems to  happen more frequently when I play in a house that is on a lot bigger than 40 x 30. My sim lived on the spencer -Kim lot and I played all the time . It would glitche occasionally when I would go to save or travel . I’ve moved around and built my own houses, or added my own touches to existing houses, on all the different size lots . Anytime I’ve gone any bigger than 40x 30 it starts to crash every time I try to do anything . It seems to crash more when I build my own house too. When I just add on to existing house the game still crashes but not as often ....  I personally love designing the houses ! If I wanted to do chores around a tiny home I would just turn my Xbox off and get back to real life🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️.  Please tell me ea is working on this ! (I have all the expansion packs . If that makes a difference)

    Sul sul, @mommie2hottie and @Mybubbles1214,

I'm sorry to hear you are crashing back out of the save file. If your saves are backed up in the cloud, one option may be to delete your local save from your hard drive storage, and try to restore the save from the cloud to see if that improves performance and allows you to access your lot again. Please note, however, that if you delete the local content without verifying the cloud save is there, then you may lose your save.

For more information on cloud saves, please check out the Xbox One cloud save FAQ: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/games/game-setup/cloud-game-saves-faq

Please let me know how it goes.

  • Unfortunately that didn't work. It is very frustrating. I can not play the game at all. When I travel, when I save, when I go into change a sim, anything it will crash.

    Sul sul, @mommie2hottie.

That's no good. Hmm, let's try some additional troubleshooting. The first step would be to try clearing your Xbox One cache by power cycling your console.

    1. Press and hold the power button on the front of the console until it turns off.
    2. Unplug the power cable from the Xbox One.
    3. Press the power button on the front of your console three or four times. This drains any remaining power from the battery.
    4. Plug the power cable back into the Xbox One..

Once you turn your Xbox One back on, the cache will be cleared and you'll be good to go there.

    Other things to try are:
