❗️ Sims 4 issues with Mac OS X El Capitan

I have a Mac OS X El Capitan and after the mandatory November 2019 update, my Sims 4 game is glitching and freezing. I just downloaded University and can't play. t freezes and just stops and I can't do anything to get out of it. I just have to turn my whole computer off using the power button. Anyone else having this issue? Any way to fix it?

I waited on here for 30+ minutes to chat with tech support and no one answered me and then it "reconnected", but never actually did and just kicked me out. I'm getting super frustrated!

  • I have a late 2015 iMac running El Capitan and have never had any problems with the game. This year I suddenly started experiencing crazy graphics issues which make the game unplayable. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling multiple times, tried the game in both windowed and full screen mode, tried changing the graphics settings. I believe it started happening around the legacy split-off update but to my knowledge my machine isn't required to change to the legacy edition. Performance is otherwise laggy but functional, seems to only/mostly be a graphics thing. I have no cc or mods installed.

Merged your post into this thread on El Capitan issues. Please update your OS to High Sierra or later to get back into your game.
  • I've recently got a second hand mac, and I was really excited to download the sims again. BUUUUTTT every time I try and play, within a couple minutes of gameplay, that multicolour spin wheel appears and the game freezers... and then i have to shut down my mac. Please help me....

Are you running El Capitan? This thread is very specific to that OS. If not, please start a new thread with the details you posted above, confirm which version of macOS you are running, and post a screenshot of the error message.
