That’s correct. When the game creates a new folder none of your saves will load because they are in the old folder.
The reason you’re getting the game already running error message is because your external drive is not recognised, as per your post here https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-Mac/Not-correctly-ejected/m-p/12428721#M55312
So origin now recognizes my hard drive but I’m still getting the error message. Even though sims is not running currently. Any other methods to try?

Still not sure what to do at this point. Origin was able to find my hard drive but I am still getting the error message. The only way it worked was by creating a new electronic arts folder, but do I have to create the symlink again? I would like to play with my saves and cc rather than start a whole new game.

Hi can you please just tell me if I have to redo the symlink when a new electronic arts file is created. Because it is the only way my game will open without getting the error message
[ed35e0ea:29f00e76:00000000:18a1dd51]. i’ve tried literally everything in this thread and nothing is working but this. But I would like to play with mods & cc. Do I have to reverse and redo the symlink or can i just drag everything to my hard drive since I have already created a symlink. All access has been permitted and nothing else is working.
