Merged your post into the symlink master thread. Rename the Mods folder so the game doesn't attempt o load the contents, trash the localthumbcache.package file, create a new folder in the Sims 4 folder called Mods, re-download from the creator one of the pieces of CC or Mods that you already have and isn't working and add it to the Mods folder. Load up your game and see if the game recognises it.

@Bluebellflora Okay so I think I screwed up reversing the symlink when I deleted the game last time because I cant find the Electronic Arts folder, in its place is the Electronic Arts_bkp.

That's a backup folder that you would have created when reversing the symlink that should contain your Sims 4 user data. If you launch the game is there an Electronic Arts folder in your local Documents folder?- lima13bean1 year agoSeasoned Rookie@Bluebellflora So before there wasnt an EA folder because I couldn't launch the game without. It would just say "game is already running". But I just got the notification to switch over to the new EA app instead of origin for mac and now its letting me launch the game and now there is an EA folder
