Correct. It will say no file or directory because there is no folder called Electronic Arts. If you successfully created that backup there should be no problem, simply remove the _bkp from the folder name and the game should load it.

The game is loading now but its loading it from my Documents and I want it to put it back on my external drive and having it run fully from there but now its saying permission denied. I went to Privacy & Security>Files and Folder and the EA app Sims and Terminal all have access and it still won't allow me to move it.

    Please post a screenshot from System Settings showing the Sims 4 permissions.

        You need to click the arrow next to the Sims 4 to show what is enabled.
