Yes but what would be the point?
If you have enough space on your internal disk to run the game with your Mods installed then keep the Mods folder and its contents in the Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 folder.
If you don't have enough space for the Mods folder on the internal drive, where would the extra space come from when you wanted to copy the mods folder and its contents back onto the internal drive?
@Bluebellflora I don't currently have enough space for it on my internal drive, so I was wondering if I could get rid of it as a temporary fix and then copy it back on my internal drive when I decide to play again (which is not any time soon).
I basically just need to buy some time to figure out my storage issues and then put it back on the internal drive (or decide to create a Symlink and put it on an external drive permanently)

But if you have no internal storage available how can you copy the Mods folder over from the external drive? There won't be any space for it. You should really just create the symlink and store the whole Electronic Arts folder on a good quality fast drive.- 7 months ago
Don't get me wrong, I'm definitely going to create symlink later, I just don't have the time right now and don't want to rush it and accidentally make a mistake that messes up my game haha.
I just couldn't use my mac at all since it was so full so I was trying to clear up storage so I could use it to essentially clear up storage for the game 🙂
It seems like I've regained "control" of my computer so I can transfer some files around, but it's good to know that I could potentially just copy paste that folder if need be
