Hi, so I'm getting this message, and I've tried just about everything. Sims 4 game and packs are properly installed on my external hard drive, and have no issues when I run them. Upon launch, as expected, an Electronic Arts folder appears in my local Documents folder. However! When I move the Electronic Arts folder to my hard drive, and create a symlink, the game stops working and the error of 'game already running' appears. This used to work fine--my game was installed and all folders associated on my drive--then after Oct 1 update, this error appeared. I uninstalled, repaired, deleted original symlink, and recreated it, but to no avail. Any ideas? What am I missing?
Moved post to the symlink thread.
Check the game and Documents folder have access to removable volumes in System Settings > Privacy & Security.
Check the mount point of the drive, further info in the opening post on page 1.

Hi, so I’m also getting the “already running” error message but I’m a Windows user not a Mac user. Can you still help me?? I’ve also moved my Electronics folder to my hard drive and created a link.

MacOS is completely different to Windows and whilst the reason may be the same, the instructions are completely different. Please post in the PC tech forum - https://answers.ea.com/t5/PC/bd-p/The-Sims-4
