2017 MacBook Pro, which version of Sims 4?

I have a 2017 13" MacBook Pro. EAs list of Macs that don't support metal do not include my laptop, yet I still can't open Sims 4? It seems that I would need to download the legacy edition, but I am against it. I would like to access new expansion packs and game packs as they are released, and I don't see why I cannot play Sims using the normal version as my Mac DOES support metal. I get that the processor and graphics must be compliant too, but how am I supposed to upgrade those?

I've moved your post out of the Legacy Edition thread as it doesn't apply to you (and edited the title to reflect your question better 🙂 )

Your 2017 Mac absolutely supports Metal. What exact issue are you having trying to load the game? Please can you also provide more information about your Mac. Instructions on how to do so and what to provide here - http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-Mac/READ-FIRST-Sims-4-Mac-Help-Guides-and-Troubleshooting/m-p/4612396/highlight/true#M162

I seem to have fixed it kind of? I went onto origin and "repaired" my game, and I am able to play. except I have a glitch now where a big black box appears underneath my sims as if their shadow is glitching. Here are my Mac details anyway:

    Model Name: MacBook Pro

      Model Identifier: MacBookPro14,1

Processor Name: Dual-Core Intel Core i5

      Processor Speed: 2.3 GHz

      Number of Processors: 1

      Total Number of Cores: 2

L2 Cache (per Core): 256 KB

      L3 Cache: 4 MB

      Hyper-Threading Technology: Enabled

      Memory: 8 GB

When I tried to open Sims 4, the little box popped up saying my game was damaged or was missing data, so I thought I had to download the legacy edition ☹️ because I don't have the same processor and whatnot that EA recommended. I also know nothing about computers so I wasn't sure if my processor was better or worse than the minimum requirement that EA mentioned. I guess its all okay now? I hope. I don't see why it made me 'repair' my game but im happy I don't have to use the legacy edition 🙂 Thanks!

    Oops, sorry!

    version: 10.15.3 (19D76)

MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2017, Two Thunderbolt 3 ports)

    processor: 2.3 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5

    memory: 8 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3

I am attempting to run the standard version of Sims 4, no antivirus, I have tried repairing the game which seems to have worked, I don't have mods 🙂
