Black squares on world maps - using CrossOver on Mac

Hi, I have the same issue, I tried everything. It also happended in a clean save and a clean game according to instructions I have found here, nothing seems to work and I keep getting more and more of those squares after time. I have now cc and a few mods, but it also happened without any.

Hi, I downloaded from steam, packs are from steam and EA, but I launch through crossover and play the windows version

weronicalenska you need to install the Mac version through EA App and test if it still happens. I would guess it's a graphics translation issue, very common when using VMs, emulators, and translation software. Or contact the provider and ask them for support.

I think you are right, it does seem to bo okay through ea, is there any way to fix my saves? or are they unfortunately corrupt? 

weronicalenska not sure really although I discovered recently that if you open the save in Sims 4 Studio you can delete the Lot thumbnail and it gets rid of the black square. Not sure if it has any subsequent effect on the save or how long it would last for but maybe try that? Make a copy of the save and edit that one just in case 😊
