Can’t delete mods
I installed some mods quite a while ago and after a bit disabled them in the game. I now want to play with just mc command centre so deleted all the mods from the folder except the one I wanted but they still all show at startup.
I’ve tried deleting the entire mods folder, have searched my mac for any hidden mods and repaired the game and they still showed up. My bin is definitely empty. Even deleting the entire mod folder hasn’t worked.
I then thought factory resetting by deleting the sims 4 folder within electronic arts would surely fix it even if it meant losing my saves but everything is still there including my saves. I looked to see where the game said my saves were and it says they are in the electronic arts folder which I deleted. I searched in case there was a second one which I’d missed but there’s absolutely nothing. Also searched for the saves themselves with no luck. Not in icloud either.
Any ideas?
If your game is loading Mods then you have Mods in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Mods. Maybe you have multiple folders due to backups and file management and have been removing the wrong ones? It happens so often. How did you search? If you used Spotlight it's pointless as it actually excludes search results from the Electronic Arts folder when it is in the Documents folder. Please use Terminal to search for your Mods instead, you can search either for the Mods folder or a specific Mod you know is loading into the game. This will show you how many Mods folders or copies of the Mod you have which should help figure out what's going on. I wrote a comprehensive guide here on the commands to use in Terminal https://bluebellflora.com/2021/10/17/using-terminal-to-locate-your-sims-4-files-and-folders/
