If she played the game on your laptop then it would have been installed on your laptop, there is no cloud based way to play the game. The game is downloaded and installed through EA App which would also have been installed on your laptop as it is required to launch the game for verification and entitlement reasons.
The game typically does not play well with iCloud Drive syncing the local Documents folder in the cloud and often causes more problems, especially if Optimise Mac Storage is enabled and storage is getting full. Simply make sure the saves folder in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 on her Mac contains all the saves she wants to play. This means you may need to copy saves over from the same location on your Mac to hers, either using a memory stick or cloud storage, or Airdrop. Be aware that you cannot have save files with the same name in the same folder so, for example, if she has a save file named Slot_00000003.save in her Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > saves folder, and you want to copy a save file with the same name from the Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > saves folder from your Mac, you will need to rename it or, the method I prefer, use save as.. in-game on your Mac so it has a different file name and then copy it over, or do that on her Mac before copying over from yours. If you need further help understanding save files read through Crin's guide here - https://sims4.crinrict.com/eng/2014/09/save-games/ it's the same for Mac and Windows.
