Cursor not moving or letting me play Sims 4 at all and it keeps freezing

Does anyone know how to fix this? I've been having this issue for a while now where whenever I try to open the sims it will freeze, and then I'll press windows and it'll repeat when I re-click on it....

Bluebellflora I'm not sure if it happens in windowed mode, because my Sims won't let me access the settings currently due to the cursor not working. But I renamed it and it continued to happen, but thank you for the suggestions and your help. Is there anyway to access windowed mode with the current problems?
