Does the Sims 4 work on Macs?

I bought the CD-Rom version of the game and realized that at the bottom is says PC DVD-Rom. Does anyone know if it works for Mac as well? I don't want to open it and have it not work for my Mac becau...

    But isn't a Mac considered a PC?

      mac's have their on OS for example mountain lion, snow lepoard etc etscif you wnat to run a windows based game for example the the sims 3 or 4 then you need a windows  based OS again for example Bootcamp  whcih come with your system

      or  Parallels which you may have to buy
