First-person camera randomly stabilized

When using the Sims 4 first-person camera (Shift + Tab), the camera no longer tilts or sways at all. It stays perfectly level and stabilized during every animation (walking, standing, interacting, turning, etc.)

Previously, there was subtle camera tilt/sway that followed the Sim’s movement, which made first-person feel fluid. Now the camera feels completely locked, as if all camera interpolation or tilt has been disabled.

First person itself still works, but the camera no longer responds to any animation with tilt or sway.

I was wondering why that is and how to get it back to being chaotic and unstable?

  • Hey, I had the EXACT same issue! — first-person camera suddenly became perfectly level/stabilized with no more tilt or sway following the Sim’s movements. (Which I personally love)

I figured out a workaround that brings back the realistic fluid version:

    1. Turn on Sims 3 Camera mode (camera icon top-right or Ctrl + Shift + Tab).
    2. Completely quit the game.
    3. Load back into your save with Sims 3 Camera still enabled.
    4. Then switch back to Sims 4 Camera.
    5. Press Shift + Tab to enter first-person.

The natural head tilt/roll/sway should be back. To keep it working, make sure you quit the game while Sims 3 Camera is on.

Hope this helps! It fixed it for me every time it randomly resets.  Please let me know if this worked for you.

I only play in sims 4 camera mode, but to get the realistic camera roll/tilt I had to do the steps above. And it ONLY works when you enable it, and leave the game and load the game with sims 3 camera ENABLED while loading the game, but once it’s loaded, you can switch back to sims 4 camera.   So whenever you leave the game, make sure sims 3 camera is enabled.
