I have a MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2016, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports) with macOS Monterey 12.4, I also have Metal GPUFamily macOS 2
Intel Iris Graphics 550
VRAM 1536 MB
I even played not so long ago and nothing seemed wrong, but now I'm being prompted to install the Legacy Edition, I have all the packs and I don't want to lose my money.
Please help
Yep, you shouldn’t need to run the Legacy Edition, your Mac supports Metal. Try this super repair https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-Mac/READ-FIRST-Sims-4-Mac-Help-Guides-and-Troubleshooting/m-p/4612394#M815
@JenZeiner which exact Mac do you have?

The OS is High Sierra. I bought that MacBook on eBay because I knew it’d let me play. I know it’s mid-2010, but at the time it was what I needed to play vs. my 2008 MacBook that I do everything else on. Here we are a year later, and as much as I have loved The Sims since 2000, I have to wave my white flag and toss in the towel. I can’t afford upgrades. 💔😭

Yeah, unfortunately it doesn’t support Metal ☹️ the FAQ in page 1 of this thread lists compatible Macs which may help when you eventually replace your Mac.- 4 years ago
Thanks. Replacing my Mac is the least of my concerns at this time. The Sims was a nice distraction from my cancer treatments. But, I can’t afford a new Mac just to play a game on.
thanks though! I’ll remember that just in case! 😌
