My Sims 3 disk won't mount on Mac Snow Leopard

Running 10.6.8 here at home. Before, I was able to install Sims3, Sims3 Pets, and Sims3 Showtime and played all with no issues. Now, for some reason, none of the disks will even mount, they keep ejecting. Mac accepts other disks (music CDs and movie DVDs) no problem, but not the Sims3 disks. The disks load okay on my dad's mac at work which is also running 10.6.8.

Already ran all utilities I could on my mac, but disks keep ejecting. Uninstalled all Sims3 programs per directions on help site, but can't reinstall because disks won't mount!

Please help!

will bring this to  the attention of gaa who is a mac user no idea what time they will be online but it will be looked at

  • The fact that the computer keeps ejecting them makes me think it's something with the disc that's wrong (even if it works on your dad's computer).  Even for Mac people, that's not a common glitch/error we experience.

While this isn't a true "solution" to your problem, the best thing would probably be to digitally download the games from Origin, so you don't have to worry about the discs at all.  As long as your games are registered, you can download them (for free) from Origin.

--I know you said you did a clean, uninstall, but just in case, these are the instructions for doing on a Mac (read through them to see if you did this):

    http://bluebellflora.com/ts3-on-a-mac/how-to-do-a-clean-uninstall-and-reinstall-on-a-mac-2

--Download the Origin client for Macs: http://www.origin.com/download

--If your games are already registered  to your Sims account, make sure you are using that email login and password for Origin.  Your games will be there under the "my games" tab in the client for you to download.  If you never registered your games you can do so through the "redeem a code" option.

--Remember to patch your game if it needs it, before playing.

Hope this helps work around the disc problem.

I think this may fix your problem. Check your game case and on the back of a manual you should see the serial number

    ****-****-****-****-****

here is how to fix this.

    1) Download the Origin Client. Link >>> http://www.origin.com/download

    2) Install the Client.

    3) Once it is installed, open it up and click on the bar at the top (the bar with a apple on it) and click on "Games"

    4) the on the drop down box click on " Add Game "

    5) Type in your serial number from the back of your manual (without the hyphens)

    6) it should recognise your code and come up with the game "sims in this case"

    7) download the game and install

    Good Luck
