Me and my girlfriend has the exact same problem on both of our computers after the update. I have tried everything in the MAC troubleshooting guide and the EA support isn't helpful at all...
After you ran the Origin reset tool what happened when you double clicked on the Origin icon to open it again? Did it take you through the set up process for Origin? Did it ask you for your password to install the Origin Helper Tool?

Here are my specs. I have tried all of the things in the troubleshoot guide. One thing I noticed when I was trying to fix this issue was that there is no Origin files under /Library/Application Support. Might that be the problem? That Origin doesn't install all necessary files?
If I run the Origin Reset Tool and then start Origin, I get prompted with the Terms of Agreement. I then accept the terms of agreement and then Origin just closes and it is the same issue again. I start Origin, it pops up on my Dock, it jumps 2 times and then just closes.
